A short lived prank on Wikipedia
Not quite sure how, but I wound up on a page on Wikipedia listing unusual deaths through the ages.
Right at the bottom the entry for 2007 included an item for Kevin Rose – apparently he “died” choking on holiday-themed beer.
By the time I refreshed the page the entry was gone, but I had the page open still on another tab and was able to grab a screenshot:
