Pretentious word of the day

When reading this otherwise informative article on adult behaviour in MMOs today, I came across what HAS to be the most pretentious word of the Web2.0 trend. Wait for it.

buyosphere

WHAT THE F**K is that? Was the reporter trying to play on biosphere or blogosphere? In either case, that word doesn

Lazyweb

From Wikipedia:

The idea that if you wait long enough, someone will implement that wacky idea you had… (or already has!) Alternatively, that if your blog or other publishing outlet has enough readers, a reader will know and provide the answer to a question you are too lazy to research yourself.

Fundamentally, that’s how I approach any software needs I have – if I want it, someone else did too and was smart enough to write a program for it!

Also, the approach of how I built my blog – someone has shared / created the source code for the functionality I want on my blog.

Free Latte!

I had made 10 coffee’s on my Spinelli’s card, and that entitles me to 1 free coffee.

So I decided that Friday afternoon was as good a time as any to collect on that, so I just headed over to Spinelli’s and had:

  • Medium Latte
  • With an Extra shot
  • Cocoa on top
  • Full cream milk

Now that’s pretty good even when you pay for it, but when it’s free – Yum, yum! :-x

Yes I know that I’ve already paid for this free one probably 10 times over when getting to it, but hey free is free mmkay?

Got back and was chatting with one of my colleagues – who told me she’s pregnant!

It’s been a nice Friday afternoon!

Unfortunately, I have to sit late in office to finish my part in convinicing the bosses to hike my pay (read: appraisal) :-(

Got myself Flickr pro

I’ve been looking around for a photo sharing site that would offer:

  • Unlimited Storage
  • High bandwidth
  • The option for anyone viewing the image to see larger thumbnails and even the original image and not just one tiny 100×100 square
  • Tagging
  • Easy to use interface

Finally realized that there was no free site that met all these requirements and decided to get a Flickr Pro account. I must say that it’s absolutely worth it. Consider me a “Flickrite” now :-)

Infinite Loop

So I file my posts in Del.icio.us and use the Daily Del.icio.us Posts to add them to my blog. Then I have the sociable plugin that allows you to file that post in del.icio.us again.

So you could theoretically, create a bookmark in del.icio.us that was actually a bunch of links in del.icio.us itself, posted to the blog using the del.icio.us API. There’s an infinite loop in there somewhere, I just haven’t figured it out yet :-)
